
This session will offer practical tips on using 30-second, 2-minute, and 5-minute allocations for effective training. Specific structured tools, such as the 1-minute preceptor, SNAPPS, and skills training, will be addressed and practised.
Professor Hanneke Brits is a full Professor and Family Physician. She has been employed on the joint staff establishment of the Free State Department of Health and the University of the Free State since 1996. In 2012, she completed her M-degree in Health Professions Education, which provided her with a theoretical foundation for her interest in clinical education. In 2020, she obtained her PhD in Health Professions Education with a focus on clinical competence assessment. Her clinical work is mainly in Paediatrics and Obstetrics, and she is also involved in guideline development, serving on the Essential Drug List Task team. Hanneke is a trained paediatric palliative care physician and has been a volunteer medical director at Sunflower Children’s Hospice since 2000. In her free time, she is a keen camper, biker, and baker.
