This workshop is targeted at teachers and supervisors in Family Medicine, who have ever come across a student who they think is underperforming. Drawing on the Training the Clinical Trainers workshops that the SA Academy of Family Physicians has hosted, this session will offer an opportunity for participants to think about the factors that may lie beneath the observed behaviours and how they should respond.

Julia Blitz is a family physician who has worked in a number of different contexts in South Africa, before moving into Health Professions Education.

Akye Essuman is an Associate Professor at the University of Health & Allied Sciences in Ho, Ghana. He is the current Chair of Family Medicine at the Ghana College of Physicians & Surgeons and serves on the Primafamed Board and the Executive Committee of Wonca Working Party on Education.
