The growth of competency-based medical education has witnessed the increased utilisation of workplace-based assessment (WBA). This E-workshop is targeted at teachers and supervisors in Family Medicine, who seek to share and improve on their understanding of practical tools for WBA. Training contact between registrar and consultants (supervising medical specialist) mostly happens ‘at the bedside’; undergraduate curricula also increasingly include earlier clinical exposure.

Busisiwe (Busi) Cawe is a Family Physician at Mthatha Regional Hospital and Associate Professor at the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health at Walter Sisulu University (WSU).
