On the 01 September 2022, Prof Vincent Setlhare, Head of Family Medicine at University of Botswana hosted the workshop on “How to do a scoping review”
The workshop was targeted at novice (e.g. registrars, Masters students) and early career researchers (e.g. family physicians in first 5-years or new faculty) as well as postgraduate supervisors. it focused on unpacking the basics of planning and conducting a scoping review. Covered the understanding of scoping reviews within the evidence ecosystem, exploring different types of evidence synthesis, describing various components of a scoping review protocol and considering useful resources for conducting and reporting scoping reviews. This workshop was ideal for those interested in doing a scoping review as part of their thesis or stand-alone research project, or as a precursor to doing a systematic review.
