Critical appraisal is an essential skill for family physicians and primary care providers. We need to be equipped to appraise the latest evidence which may inform our clinical practice. Similarly, primary care research editors rely on their colleagues to assist with peer reviewing, to ensure the quality of the research published. In this online, interactive workshop, we will focus on both critical appraisal and peer reviewing skills. The second e-workshop took place on Thursday 1 April 2021.

The hosts, Klaus von Pressentin joined the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in May 2020 as an Associate Professor and Head of the Family Medicine Division. He is the current Editor-in-Chief of the South African Family Practice Journal (the official journal of the South African Academy of Family Physicians).

Innocent Besigye is based in the Department of Family Medicine, Makerere University. He is an assistant editor with the African Journal of Primary Health Care and Family Medicine.
