PRIMAFAMED is a founding member of a new Primary Health Care Research Consortium that seeks to address priority research questions. As part of the establishment of this consortium in 2019, PRIMAFAMED completed three scoping reviews:

- Developing leadership in primary health care: a project in Zambia and Malawi to develop training and research in the field of primary health care in collaboration with the University of Bergen, Norway and funded by NORHED.
- Improving rational prescribing: a project across 4 countries. Funded by VLIR and coordinated by Stellenbosch University.
